AQUA TERRA NO SWIM OFF ROAD TRI (ORT)
New for 2008 the Aqua Terra Off Road Tri  will take place on the flowing waters of the Colorado River in Bastrop, Texas, utilizing the brand new El Camino Real Paddle Trail.  The AT ORT is open to solo racers and two person teams and either kayaks or canoes may be used.  Solo participating racers will complete the 3 discipline 22 mile course solo.   In the team category one person will bike and one person will run however both must paddle in the same boat together.  This scenic off road course will be fully marked and beginner friendly but challenging for all.

Sunday, April 6, 2008  5:30 am to 7:30 am Fisherman's Park boat ramp, Bastrop.  Boat drop will be manned by race personnel.  After boat drop racers will proceed to race Run / Bike transition, location TBA.  After the pre-race meeting racers will be bused back to the boat drop area for the start of the race.

Due to the nature of this event there will be a 100 person cap.  Ensure your participation in the race by submitting your entry as early as possible.

If the race has not sold out, a limited number of slots will be available for late entries.  Late registration will be $70.00 per person or $140 per team after March 24, 2008.  Email reservations required.  T-shirts not guaranteed for late registrants.

USARA Membership is required for this event.  Annual memberships will be available at check-in for $35, or you may purchase a single event membership for $8.  Membership also available at www.usara.com

Course:

 

The AT (ORT) Off Road Triathlon is a 3 discipline 22 mile marked course that will challenge racers like never before.  Racers will be required to carry their own hydration system, there will be NO WATER STOPS on the course.

Course Description:

 

Paddling - (Colorado River) Flowing class I river.
Mountain Bike  - Hilly double track jeep roads of Tahitian Village.

Run - River front trail and double track jeep roads.

Disciplines & Distances:

 

ORT Course

River Paddling 7 Miles
Mountain Biking 11 Miles (2 loops of a 5.5 mile course)
Running 4 Miles

Shuttle to start:

 

Race organizers will provide a shuttle from the Run / Bike transition area to the race start at Fisherman's Park.  Shuttle will leave shortly after the pre race meeting.

Canoe Rental:

 

Teams may provide their own canoes or kayaks or rent one
